Google+ is already starting to seep into other Google services. Googler Mark Striebeck indicated that there are several Gmail-Google+ integrations in the works, and he wants your feedback on what else to build.
The State of Gmail-Google+ Integrations
While somewhat sparing in the details, Mark Striebeck (Engineering Manager for Gmail's front end) indicated that Google is "working on several Gmail / Google+ integrations." Among other potential integrations, Striebeck is considering integration with the Gmail inbox, contacts, chat, and search, and ways that Gmail can "integrate social concepts [...] to make the email experience itself better."
Further, he's stated that "I want to use the creativity and momentum here for some larger brainstorming," part of which would involve getting on video chats through Google+ Hangouts with users who want to give feedback. While he had to give pretty strict limits to how many people he'd conduct these focus groups with thanks to a "crush of interest," Striebeck is continuing to hunt for opinions.
